Passed Ball Show #29 5/24/2012 Part 2

(download)
For part two of the program, I welcome in host of Sirius XM's MLB Home Plate Casey Stern. We talk about his roots in being a Mets fan, how the Mets ruled NYC in the mid to late 80s, how the late 80s Mets broke down and how the Mets missed the boat by letting Jose Reyes walk. He expresses his concern over Ruben Tejada's future and finishes by agreeing with John Maio and my feelings and expectations on the Mets resigning David Wright. John and I discuss how the Yankees may be hesitant to dish out more long term contracts, how many catchers are better than Russell Martin and can the Yankees trade for a better catcher. I continue by making my case for the Orioles to be legitimate September contenders, whether the Phillies can resign Cole Hamels, can the White Sox compete in the AL Central and how much of fraud the moneyball mentality is.
